In September 2015, the U.S. Department of Labor awarded a third round of grants under the Workforce Innovation Fund (WIF) to Connecticut, Kansas, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and the Inter-Tribal Council of Louisiana.

The funds are helping to implement and test innovative ways to deliver services more efficiently, facilitate cooperation across programs and funding streams, and create programs aligned to fulfill the skill needs of specific employers or industry sectors.

Since 2012, the WIF has provided support to enhance and study workforce development programs, and enable sharing of promising practices. Each WIF project is being independently and rigorously evaluated to contribute significant new evidence and best practices to stimulate innovation throughout the broader workforce system.
